VISIBLE LIGHT
Visible light can go through the filter and reaches the PV cell, achieving a quite similar electrical efficiency than current standard PV panels.
IR AND BLUE LENGHTS
The filter acts like a specular mirror for the IR and blue part of the solar spectrum, which account for around 45% of the solar energy. This reflected energy is collected in a thermal receiver on top of a tower in the form of heat via molten salts, the most mature thermal storage technology. This heat can be used to provide dispatchable power or for industrial processes.
